Brings back a few memories Thanks for showing them. I spent 1978-80 (army brat) in Sek Kong and later did "the last British Border Patrol" (Western NT) in the mid 1990s before hand over. Childhood memory..... the sound of the Land Rover tyres on the roads..... adult memory..... the Wessex ride into OPs on the Border.

I had thought about starting a Hong Kong collection but after seeing yours I think it will go onto the back burner.
Great collection

A note on the Canadian HK patch. These were issued to the survivors of C Force (the Royal Rifles of Canada and Winnipeg Grenadiers plus elements of supporting corps) upon their return to Canada in 1945. The C Force veterans were allowed to wear them if they remained in the army until all wartime formation signs were ordered taken down in 1947.

As you have one of the pennants featured in another thread do you know what is was for? Also what is the small badge at the end of row two in frame two, I have one somewhere, which I purchased from Australia?

There are one or two "suspect" items amongst those which relate to the police. For example, I can see a "Royal" HK Police lapel badge with a KC! A complete fake I'm afraid. Since the 1997 handover, the ever industrious population (or at least some of them) have been very busy "creating" and reproducing HKP and RHKP badges of various patterns. Alas, their desire to make money far outweighs their knowledge of the HKP/RHKP insignia.

Dave.

Nice collection! This is by far the most comprehensive HK insignia I have seen and ideal for future reference and research.
