Hi Laurent, The pin is for C Bty RCHA, in Lahr, which dates it to 1967-1993. Iiuc, they were equipped with the M109A4 during the NATO deployment.

Laurent,
As Bill has said, the pin is for C Battery, 1 RCHA, while it was stationed at the airfield in Lahr. The RCHA moved to Lahr in October, 1970, equipped with the original version of the M109. Over the years, the guns were upgraded with longer barrels. The version on your pin is the last mark, so would date your pin to the 80's-90's. The call sign 36 on the gun is significant. Guns in the third battery of a regiment were identified by the call signs 36A to 36F. CS 3 stood for the third battery, followed by a 6 meant it was the gun line. Just a bit of trivia for you. Cheers, Dan. |
