Northumberland Fusiliers
Gents, I have 3 differing examples of this badge. Would be interested to see any further examples by maker/die/colour variation.
Additionally there are 2 collar badge variations whereby they are oriented either vertical or horizontal (with central device oriented 'upright) for No.1 dress Both as I understand it are in facing pairs. Does anyone have these or any images of them please? Regards all Bess |

I think "Churchill" states that a pair of the upright pattern RNF in anod al appear on a sealed pattern with St George and the dragon facing the same way (implying that they weren't worn in mirror pairs?).
I may be wrong, he may be talking about the horizontal pattern, I find it hard to follow what he's saying sometimes. |

Picked this up from eBay the other day.
It's an unmarked slider. The badge has certainly seen wear, and the makers name is not on the inside, so definitely an unmarked one. I believe by comparison it's a Gaunt one, it's the finish, the same rivet has been used to attach the St George part, and the slider is the same size also. The gold is lighter on the unmarked one though. I hope this is of interest. Cheers Chris |
