Timeline 1935 -1941 : British Legion Cubs - Members of the club under the age of fourteen and war orphans were given their own badge and membership card and were encouraged to do good deeds for ex-servicemen. 1950's - 1971 : British Legion Youth/Youth Club - From mid/late 1950's various Branches introduced Youth Clubs/membership for under 18's. Badges with Youth/Youth Club. 1971-1981 : Royal British Legion Youth/Youth Club - Similar badges to pre RBL. 1981 - Present : Royal British Legion Youth Membership , new 'lion head' and no indication of a 'club'. Affiliated Units : This 'group' patch appears to have been introduced post 1980 as it has the new lion head , individual members do not have to be in the RBL to wear the patch. .

Many thanks for that! I was wanting to remind myself of the context around these badges but was feeling lazy so you've saved me the effort of looking back through the posts! Don't give up as if there is one out there, there must be another! Oddly enough, I'd never heard of the Cubs but a late friend told me about it and blow me down if one didn't pop up on thingy Bay the next week! |
