Default Victorian RA Militia OR Helmet Plate

Hello gentlemen,

i have just added this helmet plate for other ranks of the Royal Artillery Militia to my collection.
Victorian crown, so it should be KK812 and in wear 1891-1902.

It is very sharp and detailed die struck with a deep relief, only two dark copper lugs to the reverse.
I guess and hope it is an old period item, if there are any doubts please let me know.
I found a very similar example in the album of 54bty

https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...pictureid=1418

very close, but at least not the same die.
My badge seems to be "multi-purpose", the "UBIQUE" scroll above the gun could have been cut or strucked out and the lower scroll with "MILITIA ARTILLERY" is soldered (or "brazed") to the badge.
The obverse has been coated with a kind of zapon varnish to protect from oxydation.
That is what i see, any comments and corrections are welcome,
thanks for looking,
regards
Markus
