Default Nomenclature - Shoulder Belt Badges

I'm struggling to understand the correct nomenclature for these - if there is a 'correct' term.

I refer to the single strap belt used to carry the pouch (not the double cross straps).

Is the strap itself called a 'Shoulder Belt'? Or is it a 'Pouch Belt'?

The badge on the pouch itself would be the 'Pouch Badge'. I'm pretty sure thats correct.

But what is the badge worn on the front on the single strap? Is it a 'Shoulder Belt Badge', or a 'Pouch Belt Badge', or a 'Breast Plate Badge'?

Or have I got better things to worry about...?

The standard reference on these things (by Parkyn) refers to Shoulder Belt Plates.

I'm not sure what the standard description for 'pouch badges' is - try Victorian DR volumes !?

My understanding is as follows:-

If the strap was used to carry a pouch, then it was a Pouch Belt and consequently the badge upon it was a Pouch Belt Plate (PBP) and the badge on the pouch, simply a Pouch Badge.

If the strap over the shoulder was not for carrying a pouch it was called a Shoulder Belt and consequently the badge on it a Shoulder Belt Plate (SBP)

regards

On "Crossed Belts" perhaps?

An old form of dress in the British Army.

Apologies for my very late thanks for your responses on this. I've amended my own website to reflect 'Pouch Belt Plates' as the standard decription now.
