Default Help needed identifying regiment

Hello all,
I've been researching my great grandfather who was in the 1st Battalion Cameronians from at least 1905 to 1911, first in India then in South Africa. He was a reservist at the outbreak of WW1 when he rejoined his regiment and served on the front throughout the war. I have a photo of him in his Cameronian uniform in India and also a photo of him as a bugler in A Coy 1st Bn Cameronians in Chakrata, India in around 1905 and one taken in around 1917/1918.
Among his photos however are the two I have attached. The individual portrait seems to be the Yorkshire Light Infantry. Does the bandolier mean he was mounted? What year would it be? The man in the third row, third from the left (not counting the guy standing) looks like my ggrandfather but I can't be sure. Is this the same uniform as in the individual portrait? What regiment is it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

The KOYLI is a nice photo and the leather is unusual. He might be a cyclist?

So the individual portrait is a KOYLI. Do you have any idea of period? Is the group photo of the Cameronians? They also have bandoliers...

The group photo is indeed the Cameronians.

The KOYLI and Cameronians are not wearing anything unusual.

They are all wearing the Pattern 1903 Bandolier Equipment, the standard Infantry equipment until the Pattern 1908 Web Equipment was phased in.

Can you enlarge the shouder patch on the KOYLI soldier. The surround is a mourning one but the photo is 10 years before WW1. Where was he from? Could this be another relative?

Could be a pre war photo taken after 1905 of a soldier who died during the war. Regards, Paul.

Exactly - if it is a VB cloth s/t it would suggest he was in the KOYLI before enlisting in the Cameronians in 1905 but he looks quite old in the photo

Could it be YORKSHIRE in white on red worn on khaki service dress 1896-1907?
