Very sorry but it’s fake.

… thought I’d already posted this but seems to have disappeared.

....not my find, it was Rob's... a small collar size motto with slider that was made for the 17/21L FFScap made by LUDLOW. It appears that LUDLOW copied the Gaunt pattern to make it.

The only "LONDON LUDLOW" marked Motto I have ever seen.

Not one item, but have added a few items to my Liverpool VTC collection and rearranged the display.

Not a “Pristine” example but as a former “Essex Boy”, I was very happy to acquire this a few months ago. Now to put it into my album!

Default Somalia Gendarmerie cigarette box

Mine would have to be this cigarette box presented to Brigadier D. H. Wickham, CBE, Chief Administrator of Somalia, by the Somalia Gendarmerie on his leaving the post in 1947.

I bought this a few weeks ago. Very rare as it was only worn for 12 months to 2 or 3 years.

This one has taken me years to find. I recently did a thread on the Amethyst here

https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ad.php?t=90977

Then one turns up! I was lucky enough to get some of the history behind the Rating who owned this tally. He wasn't on the Amethyst during the Yangtze incident, but served on her during the Korean War.

Out of all the tallies that I have actively been seeking over the last 40 years or so, this has been the hardest to find. I am now looking for HMS Consort and HMS Black Swan.

Probably this for me.

A 1916 all GM issue aka economy 4th Bn Dorsetshire Regiment.

A badge I firmly believed either never existed with the order cancelled prior to completion or to no longer exist due to being destroyed en masse owing to ACI 1338.

For the die and manufacture geeks amongst us it’s from the Smith & Wright die which has been hobbed to erase the Marabout battle honour as evident from the lack of reverse impression.
