Hi Peter
Yes, a good service record which resulted in him being a Battery Sergeant Major in an anti-aircraft unit until 1943. After that he did courses in booby traps and and was sent to NW Europe in this capacity in late-1944 until July 1945. A distinguished career for a volunteer. He was awarded WWII service medals but they weren't mounted with the group.

Great medal group and service history of a Kitchener's soldier and Division thanks Alex. As you noted the 34th Division was home to the 101st Brigade and the 10th Lincolns 'Grimsby Chums" who lost 487 men out of 1000 that fateful day.
