Without checking with the R Signals Museum at Blandford, I would say this (and the felt on felt version) was worn by 1 Inf Div Signal Regiment 1950s to early 1960s and the demise of BD. Mike

The introduction in November 1951 of a blue and white diamond flash for WRAC serving with Royal Signals units caused 1st Infantry Division to protest that their signallers had worn an identical but unofficial badge since 1941. Examples on KD exist and it was recorded on battle dress in May 1946.
The printed version is either a 1st Division post-war example or more likely the WRAC version as most wartime examples worn by 1st Infantry Division are made of two pieces of material. Jon |
