A retired gentleman who has also retired from collecting badges in general but still adds to a core regimental collection occasionally thanks Frank.

Unfortunately Jerry I am flying home on Friday night. I like the Farnham Fair - you guys and girls have it good here you know.

I have scored more work in the UK so hoping to have more regular trips back home and one more before Xmas if I can fit it in.

Cheers Dean

Hi again Dean
Sorry to "keep-on" about this particular badge ... but I am still fascinated and puzzled about its lineage.
Not just the "Bydand" motto, but the Ivy-leaf surround. This just screams "Gordons" to me .. or at least Aberdeenshire Militia not Lanarkshire as has been said.
Oh dear. Have just seen your new post (plus close-ups) on the other thread. Looks like someone has made a mess of a really nice badge. Great pity. I guess you can't win 'em all. Regards. Jeff
PS: Safe trip back on Friday

Hi Jeff,

The badge was somewhat of a mystery to me and the detail in the ivy leaves etc spoke quality to me and so it was worthy of trying to identify it. I had noted the solder run on to the Bydand scroll but was more trying to place the badge mentally in Bloomer.

All good fun really, cheers Dean.
