Default Relatives of WWI Missing Soldiers Sought

Anybody related to Sidney Roberts, (born in Kilburn, September 1898), John Rogers, (born in Kent in 1876), Albert Jones, (born in 1897 in Halesowen) or Thomas Parker, (born in 1885 in Stafford) is urged to contact the CWGC.

The remains of two members of the 1st Middlesex, killed in September 1918, were recovered near Villers-Guislain in 2014. The CWGC have the four above men as candidates, and are looking for relatives DNA to confirm identity.

In February 2016, the remains of three British soldiers killed during the Battle of Cambrai were found at Anneux.

Sadly, one remains unidentified, but the other two, Pte Henry Wallington and Pte Frank Mead, of the 23rd (County of London) Battalion, were identified using DNA samples from relatives.

On Wednesday the three men were buried with full military honours at Hermies Hill British Cemetery near Albert:
