RMA collar and cap badge

We had to make holes for badge lugs in our berets and caps, these caps probably wouldn’t be issued with holes in them. Could yours have been used with a slider rather than lugs perhaps Irv?

Whilst documentary evidence doesn’t support a theory of collar badges being different there’s often wishes on the forum for photographic evidence of past badges. I don’t have an axe to grind and don’t want to go searching for different collar badges for my collection but to my eye the picture seems to show a difference so thought I would share

The trouble is the regulations John provided is great and shows that it is the way that the badge should be worn.
The trouble is the caps I have seen have no hole. If it was the rule why is there no caps adapted as per the rule?
I’m not trying to pick a fight but I come from a world where evidence was important. It’s fine having the regulation and I thank John for that but did it happen? If the E-W lugs are not period but the period pictures show the badge sitting below the red piping the lug either had to be put through the cap material or the bottom lug on a S-N must have been cut off. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen a RMA badge with the bottom lug removed or missing.
Surly I can’t be the only RM collector who has RMA brodrick caps. It would be great to see others and get a consensus showing the front with or without the hole for the badge (as per the regulations).

Looks like exactly the badge as worn in the Brodricks to me but flame edges less apparent due to the lighting conditions.

Note how the lighting has made the cap badge in the second pic look lopsided, clearly it is not.

Looks like the position of the cap badges on their Brodricks is what a thinking man would do with a N-S looped badge to negate the thicker band.

I will re-iterate every E-W looped RMA badge I have seen is a repro.

Post 18 and 19 the collar badge is positioned wrong, up and down in stead of horizontal ish. but I agree that the E-W badges are fake until proved otherwise. The Regulation to put the bottom post through the front wasn't adhered to by a few marines.

In 19 it looks like the chap whose shoulder he has his hand on has the collar badge on the other way to him

Yes, one has it horizontal and the other marine has it vertical.
