Default Regimental Silver Spoon EMYC Yeomanry ???

No quite a badge, but I picked this salt spoon up at a boot sale in South Wales last week and has what appears to be EMYC engraved on the handle. I thought it a bit too long for someone`s initials, so possibly Yeomanry Cavalry ??
It`s dated 1815, any ideas would be great.
Thanks, Martin.

It's a walking-out spoon (circa teatime); being white-metal these are frequently erroneously identified as being for bandsmen or for Coronation slurping.

Whilst there was a Monmouth Cavalry unit in existence between circa 1794-1816 the letters do not fit. Glamorgan did split their Yeomanry into west, central and east title wise, but I have not seen anything to suggest that Monmouth did likewise. In any event I would expect to see some sort of device shown in addition to the letters. As such I rather think that the letters do just relate to a family name. The letters look more like EMH to me.

Thanks for the comments, not really sure on this one. Out of interest, I bought it in Monmouth.

I think it’s EMH.

Like Kevin I suspect family initials.

Yes, I see it now, probably a bit of wishful thinking on my behalf......
