Hello

First example measures 17 x 55mm.
Second example is sheet brass, measures 16 x 50mm.

I am aware of another die cast example, similar font type to the first with thinner letters, measures c. 17 x 48mm.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Pat

Trust Pat to have both patterns. Thanks for showing them as always good to see differences in patterns that are not well documented.

I was keen to collect to IY badges and titles but then I saw Pat's impressive boards and thought maybe I should walk to Everest and then think again about such an IY folly. Good luck Normandie18.

I can recall from my early collecting days having a cut down SRIY title that just read SRY with the 'I' removed, presumably post 1908.

regards

It is exactly my point of view : "SRIY" titles have been shortened in "SRY" by cutting the Imperial "I". I think these transformed "SRY" titles have been worn until the early WW2 as we can see on the service dress of Trooper Harry Buckingham : http://www.wlhg.co.uk/servicemen_who_were_lost.htm
Can anyone confirm these "SRY" titles were worn until the end of WW2 in combinaison with "Sherwood Rangers" embroidered titles ?
