Default Highland Cadets

Adapted sporran badge.
Cast 5th Royal Scots of Canada or's gilding metal Glengarry badge.
Ref Brooker 105-11-28 for die-struck version.

The original lugs have been drilled out each hole skillfully filled with two copper wires. Replaced with two long lugs attached with lead solder. Original numeral 5 removed and replaced by a copper St. Andrew's Cross again lead soldered. Then the whole badge silver plated.

Worn as a sporran badge by the Highland Cadets of Montreal circa 1899-1904. They wore 5th Royal Scots badges untill replaced by their own design.

The illustration below ref St. Andrew's Cadet's CC NO 82
Mazes pre 1914 Pg 180 Fig # CD 23a.
