Default Coppercliff Highlanders Cap Badge

Hi Guys,

Does anyone have any good pics of the Coppercliff Highlanders cap badges?

I have just purchased one and want to compare it to some others. I'll post it on here when I get some decent pictures.

Many thanks in advance,

Bill

Which pattern Bill? There are at least 3 distinct varieties.

Great site guys, thanks.

It's the non-void version I've got. Do you know roughly when they were worn?

If you go by the cadet website...it was worn in the 1940s and probably in the early 1950s...

The Migory's are two brothers and a sister who are dealers in canadian badges and insignias. They have been in business for the longest time, at least I remember them from the early 1980s and even then they were already known in colectors circles. The legend has it that at one point sometime in the 1970s, they bought surplus canadian KC and QC badges by the barrel...so that's why they still sell those today........And they are still in business in Toronto.

Hi Jo,

That could explain why some badges are coming onto the market from that area.

I've got a load of new Canadian items recently so will post them in my Canadian album soon, including some nice CEF sweetheart broaches.

Thanks again, Bill

The Migory's father started the business back in the 1960's. They were able to access lots of surplus at one time, but that has dried up. They still do shows but are not as active.
It certainly isn't the Migory's who are pumping Cdn badges into the internet; they don't have an ebay presence or even a dealer web page that I can find.

Thanks Bill for the update about the Mogorys.....haven't been to the Toronto shows in years where I used to see them.

The Migory family (Floyd, Diane and Buddy) business used to run as Floyd Migory Hobby Supplies. They used to send out a periodic list of badges for sale and at the time offered the best prices on the more common badges. Having said that, I often found them selling scarcer badges at the shows. I used to get their lists in the 1970s and 80s. I don't know when they stopped sending them out.
Of note, the Migorys were huge supporters of The Military Collectors Club of Canada. I still see them at the shows, and they are always good to deal with.
I might still have one of their lists squirreled away.
