Default Star of David Lapel Badge

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any idea what this badge would have been for? Possibly a locally made "On War Service" type badge?

Any suggestions would be very helpful.

Kind regards,

James

Cut from some broad arrow marked piece of brass?

It doesn't have the look of a mass produced item and the lapel fitting looks as if someone had a couple of clues but the number seems pretty high.

Suggestion: were there any makers of brass rifle oilers, etc. that used the "L H" marking?

I was thinking along the lines of the Jewish greeting “To Life”.

La Heim = “To Life” or “L’chaim”

Could this be a Holocaust survivor’s tribute?

Good idea, hence my question as to makers that might have used the LH mark.

Not attacked a shell base before, but you would sure work up a sweat on that one, much like a cartoon I once saw of a guy chopping down a tree to make a toothpick!
