The lanyard looks like a Civil Defence one.

The backing on the 2nd Lt shoulder slide looks like faded Infantry red.

regards

Hi Manchester,

Thanks for your comments , not convinced on the lanyard being civil Defence.

The colour backing of the pip on the LT Shoulder slide is Maroon

Cheers

Regards

That same yellow lanyard is also worn by "Staff Cadets" of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets (formerly the Air Training Corps)

Does that lanyard look like this one:
G3 - Lanyard. Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
NSN 8465-99-975-7467 - Link type. Three ply. Yellow. Length 84cm. Diameter/Width 1.2cm. Link 43cm. Loop Knot 41cm. Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Victory College (SGC). Queens Royal Hussars.
Also worn previously by the Queen's Royal Irish Hussars and Royal Norfolk Regiment. See Q8 and T6 for earlier pattern QRIH.

You would probably favour the QRIH / QRH connection? Also worn earlier by the 4th Hussars?

Tim
