afbc,
many thanks for that !That is a site I have visited B4,but not that particular section.
Can anyone elaborate on the situation ,etc, where this would be worn/used.
I am guessing where the 'Captain' may be an Instructor ,or a Pilot of junior rank to other crew members ?
Possibly worn on the Flight Jacket ?

Hello Steve, this is what I found on the meaning of the armband;

Worn on operations by Sergeant Pilots who had one or more commissioned officers serving in their crew. These bands were introduced by Air Ministry Order N 861 of 24th August 1944.

This information takeen from WW2wings.com website.
