Default RAF WO Badge?

I was wondering if any members might be able to tell me if this is an RAF WO badge, and if so what date is it.

Any help would be great,

Johnnie

Default RAF badges

Hi Johnnie
They are both RAF but I can't remember the exact rank designation. The crown look pre 1952.
Cheers,
Alex

Hi there, the one on the left is a Master Aircrew Rank Badge. This ia a Warrant Officer Aircrew, and it's worn on the sleeves of the No1 uniform. Again I agree, looks pre-1952.

Hope this helps
Bill

Many thanks for the replies and the help with this.

I have also posted a few photos in the Australian section, however I wonder if a few of the badges I have listed there might be British rather that RAAF.

Any advice would be great.

Johnnie

The two images posted are Aircrew Rank badges worn 1946-1950. Master Aircrew and Aircrew Cadet. Only the first badge with the Royal Arms has survived and is still worn by Warrant Officers (Class 1) Master Aircrew, mainly Load Masters. Not sure if the RAF have taken into use the Army WO1 and WO2 titles yet.

If they are not what you collect I have a good home for them!

Many thanks for the reply.

I was thinking of selling the items as they do not really fit into my collection (medals and log books/paperwork), however I have no idea what they are worth so was going to put them on ebay.

Do any members have any idea what they are worth. I would be happy to sell them outside of ebay.

Johnnie
