Default Norfolk Regiment
I would like to ask Forum members for help with the following.

The 1st Volunteer Battalion Norfolk Regiment went to South Africa in 1900. I have seen a photograph of one of those, a Sergeant. He is wearing a black FSC with what appears to be a small Britannia badge facing forward, possibly in white metal.

Would this be the usual badge worn by the 1st Volunteer Company at this time?

Any help, advice or even a photo would be greatly appreciated.

It was usual at the time to use collar badges in the FSC.

One further question. Would the badge as worn by a Sergeant just have been in plain white metal or silver plate etc.

As it was a collar then I would expect it to be in nickel.

Not VB, obviously, but thought it might be of interest (formerly on display at the old Norfolk Regiment Museum, Norwich).
