Thanks CB,
That is most helpful, does it suggest any date?
Ron.

No way to date with certainty without provenance, but it is likely early 20thC., possibly slightly earlier.

Yes I was thinking around 1900-10.
Been reading up on the crest, 16 petals reserved for the Emperor and 14 petals for other members of the Imperial family. Also that the Ho-ou phonex was associated with the Empress.
I have a couple of large hanging scrolls reguarding the Emperors enthronement and hat, will try and dig them out and post them.
Ron.

As a child my favorite song was the teddy bears picnic, recreated here by my two granddaughters.

One of my other collections, Royal Prussian Orders and decorations.
Most from the 19th century, not much common awards from WW1.
I keep the collection in a dark cupboard, so I apologize for the bad pictures.
If someone is interested i would be pleased to show single decorations, please feel free to ask anything.
1. Red Eagle-Order
2. Crown-Order
3. Royal Houseorder of Hohenzollern & Laidies decorations
4. Campaign medals and military awards
5. Long service, Red-Cross- and other civil awards

Thanks for looking and kind regards
Markus

Hello Markus.

This is a wonderful collection. A privilege to see. If I could ask to see anything in detail it would be the Royal House Order of Hohenzollern. It is one of my favourite Orders, especially those awarded during the World War 1 period - with swords! : )

Kind regards, Malcolm.

Hello Malcolm,
here it is: Silver/gild version, awarded from November 1916 until the end of the war. Before 11/16 they were still produced in genuine Gold.
This one is marked 938 (Silver content 938/1000) and a cut W for Johann Wagner & Sohn, Hofjuwelier in Berlin. Others in 938 Silver were made by Sy&Wagner, Godet and Friedländer.
Also an interesting item from WW1 is the Star 1st class Crown-Order with swords, also produced after 11/1916, the "golden" parts like the swords are Silver/gild.
This one was awarded mid 1918 to General der Infanterie Martin Chales de Beaulieu when he retired from active service.

Kind regards
Markus
