Default Unidentified Signals unit

Probably elements of HQ 7 Armd Div in Aversa, just north of Naples, Sep/Oct 43. The markings on the truck on the left (Morris-Commercial 15 cwt 4x2) identify it as HQ 7 Armd Div Signals. The truck on the right (Truck 1/2 ton 4x4 Dodge WC-1) appears to have a R Signals blue/white plate on the nearside front wing. But what is the badge on the driver's door? It looks to me like a crowned Maltese cross on a dark coloured disc. Was a badge like this ever worn by some obscure TA regiment with a R Signals role? All ideas welcome!
