Spanish connection
I was searching for a PPA badge tonight and found these:-
A small brooch which has Spanish connections, is it from the Spanish Civil War with Russian connections? The second item is an ID tag for W.Chandler, M2, MT, 121942 CE Any help with information welcome, thanks for looking. Rob |

If the badge had Russian connections I doubt that the wording would be in English.
I wonder if it is a commemorative badge worn by members of the International Brigade with a Warwickshire connection. |

Good morning,
the bear and the arbutus tree are on the arms of Madrid, and the colours are those of the Second Spanish Republic Laurent |

Spanish brooch
Many thanks forum members for your thoughts and replies, I was way out thinking the bear was of Russian origins, as stated why would it be in English?
The ID disk came from where I not know, I may put it on my ASC board. Regards Rob |

Yes...a conmemorative badge for the republicans who fought in the defense of Madrid..the tricolor flag of the II Republic, the years 1936 (when started the civil war) to 1938 (in 1939 Madrid was taken by the Nationalist troops) and the bear on the tree (Madrid coat of arms)
