RAF Officers Economy badge
At last have found the Backing plate and Crown to complete this badge, I have two very different Eagles? No markings on either of these nor the Crown, backing plate is marked as you can see from photo, but never heard of this maker? I was expecting the Walsall mark.
Can anyone give me any indication on different versions to the Eagle? One Eagle appears slimmer than the other, will post pictures tomorrow when I get home from work, also one is thicker, will measure thes also but any gelp appreciated, many thanks Billy |

Here are images of the two Eagles I have to go with Crown and backing plate:-
Wingspan both simiar at 50.25 mm (Fat Eagle) & 50.12 mm (Slim Eagle) Width 15.3 mm, (Fat Eagle) & 14.26 mm (Slim Eagle) difference of 1.00 mm approximately. Thickness 4.67 mm (Fat Eagle) & 3.69 mm (Slim Eagle) difference of 1.00 mm approximately. The pictures are Fat Eagle in sequence then the Slim Eagle, the measurements vary to above but difficult to avoid am afraid! There are no markings to the rear, can't see shrinkage being an issue either, and when placing both together you get that optical allusion where one seems smaller than the other more so than measurements indicate. The makers mark off JRL Ltd, B, ham, is a new maker to me was expecting it to have been Stanley & son Walsall, has anyone information on these and to what badges where manufactured by them? Many thanks Billy |

Hi Billy
The JRL maker mark is one also used on the ATS plastic badges on the slider as far as I can remember . Gerard
