Default Antiques Roadshow Cloth Badges

Thanks to the generosity of their owner I have now had the opportunity to photograph the albums that were featured on the show. Two sample pages shown.

There are some 430 badges altogether including armbands, formation signs, trade badges and arm titles. Apart from insignia from the British and Canadian armies there are RAF, RN, Free Forces, Civil Defence, Home Guard, ROC, NFS, WVS and cadet items. Two badges I do not recognise are shown - my best guess for the naval badge is Chief Inspector, Naval Ordnance.

The entire collection will be featured in a special edition of The Formation Sign, Journal of the Military Heraldry Society to be published in November. As with the RAF Special Number published last year copies will be available for sale to non-members. If you would like to purchase a copy please PM me so I can judge the print run.

Jon

The pine tree badge looks similar to the Polish 3rd Carpathian Rifles Division.

Superb effort and very kind of the owner to let you photograph it.

Can you please tell me if it includes a printed Chindit Formation sign?
