Default Special Service Brigade patch

I'm way out of my depth with elite forces insignia, and so I'm wondering about this patch. It certainly looks and feels 'right', but as said I'm no expert. It measures approx 2"x2" (5cmx5cm), and the thread is actually a shade or so darker than as seen in the photos, a 'light copper-brown' colour is the best I can describe it. Welcome your comments, thanks.

A poor fake.

Wrong construction - incorrect shape - the words 'wouldn't','touch' and 'barge-pole' spring to mind.

Looks like one of the sub-continental dud badges from India or Pakistan.

Cool Special Service Brigade patch

I could post a pic of a genuine patch, however this would give the fakers a much better idea of what to produce and no doubt better copies would hit the market very soon.

As Captain Mainwaring said "Don't tell em Pike"

Would you post just a poor quality pic of the front only to give us mere mortals an idea of what one looks like?

Cool

SC, one of the main features of this cloth badge is the shape of the patch, the fakers got it totally wrong IMO making it easy to spot.

This is one of the reasons why I have not posted a photo, originals are a totally different shape.

Thank you for the help - I have seen the badge in the book “badges on Battledress” but the image is not clear and obviously no back is shown! Makes it difficult to learn not having access to an original to study
Did yours have provenance?
