Default 5th/6th battalion south staffordshire

For sale at present on ebay seller Phil Hicks [emerson 141115 ] Suspect from the recent Stroud auction as he purchased largest number of lots Gold anodised 2 lugs as K.K 2388 I have never seen an original of this badge Any body any comments -please note I am not interested in this item
I did ask one of the staff at the auction if they knew who the seller was -all they said as far as they were aware the vendor started collecting as a boy after WW11 and carried on
Please note before the usual suspect/s go on and on I have no provenance only hear say

The badge appears to be a genuine one.
The problem is the description, people see "anodised" and take it to be anodised aluminium when in this case its definitely not aluminium. The consensus seems to be that its anodised Zinc.

He occasionally gets things wrong ( as we all do ) but i believe his a decent dealer. I have had a run in with him, but i would still buy off him.

It may be Staybrite.

Absolutely 100% definitely it is not AA.

Best regards to all

William I think part of the confusion on this badge is that K.K states it as gold-anodised, but a badge that I know little about

That was the point I was making David. Anodised finish but not made from aluminium.

This has been discussed before and despite the label of 'anodised' and it appearing in the hand drawn a/a badges pamphlet, the badge is not a/a. It is an anodised ie shiny finish on a base metal.

The same shiny gold finish on base metal can also be found on a few school CCF badges dating from the 1960s.

It's a curiosity but such an unattractive badge I wold not pay much for it.
