Phil, This is a very useful resource. I have pinned it for easier reference.

ive used this website as the basis for helping me understand the range of modern canadian insignia, but i find it lacking in a few areas, many pictures are missing, it can be confusing with some of the information it provides... and also the service dress / deu confusion. other than that, i like it... its free and online, i dont have the room for stacks of books, so it works! hopefully someday a lot of this information may appear more complete on forums like this?...

hmm... tempting. i have already produced e-books to help me collect these items, scanning what i have to date. will have to think about what best format these insignia items should appear in online...

Do anyone get that depressed feeling every time there is a change in insignia or is it just me? Amalgamations are always depressing, The Royal New Brunswick Regt. The Royal Regt. of Scotland, As Peanuts would say "good grief" Of course unification was the most depressing of all. Ray

Just tried it (11:45 am) and it says "Directory Listing Denied".

Same thing. One of my peeves with the internet is that sites are changed without warning and without reason.
Lets wait a couple of days to see if it is just updating.

Mike, Only some of the links are working on that page. When accessing the cadpat shoulder titles links, most of the links return Error 404 Not Found. Hopefully this reflects an updating process.
On another point, that page references combat rank badges. I thought that they were obsolete.

And the OD combat cap badges are obsolete too.

The re-construction of the DND Badges and Insignia web appears to be completed. All the links seem to be working. http://www.forces.gc.ca/admmat/badge...egrade-eng.asp

im really happy that website is back together! does anyone notice much for additions?...

i note in the cadpat title section "blue on avg green"... didnt notice that before. very exciting stuff! but, sadly still no mention yet of the artic titles, sorry Bill!...

regimental rogue... if you are refering to the boonie badges, they are still there... i had wondered before if they`ll ever be replaced with cadpat versions, but perhaps they would not be clearly visible enough to be distinguishable?

I'm not sure that there is a plan for cadpat capbadges on the field hats.
The way they are designed, I don't think that there is much room on the front for a cap badge. Plus, it just one more thing to have to worry about.
