Default CAF 2nd issue Officers and NCO cap badges

I thought I would share these CAF (Canadian Air Force) cap badges (with motto) I picked up recently. They date to the early 20's.
It's always difficult to get good images of this issue, partly because of the reflective surface and partly because of the depth and curved areas on the badge. The Officers badge on the (wedge) field service cap hasn't been cleaned has the oxidized patina of old silver. A pic of the small CAF cap buttons is also attached. They are unmarked as were all originals in this size.

Scarce badges. Thanks for posting these. These pre-date the RCAF badges.

Hi Zorgon,

Welcome to the forum and a lovely way to start sharing these beauties, well done indeed.

I only have one CAF badge (image below) but it is certainly one of my favorites, beautifully designed these early CAF badge.

Cheers, Roy.

Default CAF Insignia

Hi Bill, Roy & Wingnut (yes).
I've been a lurker for awhile on this form and decided to post a few of my items. I agree with you Roy (and Warren Carroll had mentioned it too) the early CAF stuff is some of the nicest ever made.
I have uploaded (technically, a very complicated process to get correct) some of my other CAF items to Wikimedia Commons. If you would like to see other examples, check out:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/C..._%281920-24%29

I look forward to both learning about and sharing items with the Form regarding Canadian Air Force badges, crests and insignia.

Regards,
Zorgon

Hi Zorgon,
Would you be interested in writing a short article on these CAF items for MilArt? It is an under-studied area of our military history.

Hi:
Thanks for the suggestion to write something for MilArt. I agree that the literature seems to be lacking a detailed summary of the CAF insignia and I have, in fact, submitted an article to the MCCoC Journal for their consideration.
I'll explain more in a private note to you.

Best wishes,
Zorgon
