Thanks to mike & wingnut saying they could be Portuguese, Ive had a look on the net and found the following:
WWI Portugal Pilot Wings Sterling Gold Plate by Weingarten GalleryItem Number P1844This is a museum quality reproduction of an extremely rare wing from WWI. A Portuguese Pilot wing made in sterling silver with a 24k Gold plate. The Portuguese in World War One had no aircraft but flew in British and French squadrons. I have not been able to find out how many pilots they had. But it could not have been many. This is a rather large wing at just over 3 12 inches wide, making it one of the larger ones ever made. http://aviationhome.com/product/WWI-...old-Plate.html

Thanks Eddie,
I'm really pleased I now know what they are, and from what period. However this was the only example I could find, and sadly these are a reproduction. So the big question now is, what is there value and are they are rare as they are making out?
