Some New Combined Cadet Force Arm Badges
Whilst on CCF Summer Camp at Altcar this last week here are a few new Combined Cadet Force badges that I have seen for the first time:-
1) Royton and Crompton School - affiliated to the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers 2) Birkenhead Girls High School Academy- affiliated to The RAMC 3) The Blacon High School (Chester) - affiliated to the Queen’s Own Yeomanry- note the interesting inclusion of the Reconnaissance Corps emblem 4) Liverpool Life Sciences UTC - the rather phallic emblem is actually a test tube - affiliated to The RAMC (and yes Terry (Home Guard), I managed to acquire one for you Enjoy Paul |

Do new badges have to go through the Army Dress Committee or similar?

No as they are cadets and not Reserves or Regulars they get a lot of latitude in what they wear. CCFs especially.

That being said, not all RPoCs are as diligent as 7 Bde and there are many examples out there without official sanction… |

All very cool, but of course Birkenhead tops the list for me!
To follow on REME 245's question. Do they need approval from a Corps or Regiment, etc. to be able to use their insignia? When a school is affiliated to a regular unit, what exactly does that entail? Does it mean the unit adopts them and provides training and support? Thanks, Terry |

And here’s another new one . This time Rossall School. The “1” commemorates the fact that Rossall School had the first officially sanction cadet Corps (formed in 1860)
