There are some useful descriptions and occasional illustrations in the appendix of "With the MT in Mesopotamia" which is available as a NMP reprint or even online through Hathitrust.

Those are superb images. I wonder if the IWM could be persuaded to release the sheets of images of the signs in colour - it would add enormously to their value. Mike

A very useful and informative post. As a collector of WW1 cloth formation patches the variation of vehicle markings adds to the wider 'heraldry' of WW1 insignias. Thank you.

In this case I suppose it could be up to you or MH331,since you are UK-based to try and see if the IWM is open to do what you have suggested.
