The RCAChC wore metal cap badges. I have not seen an embroidered one, not to say they never acquired such. Chaplains are a pretty unique and "independent" group and not as adherent to dress regs as other corps/services.
The more I look at that the more I think it was made for the stole/scarf. (Interesting, in DND documentation, it is called a scarf not a stole.)

Hi Bill,
I remember that I had a book called Peacetime Padres Canadian Protestant Military Chaplains 1945-1995 written by Major Albert Fowler OMM CD and was produced locally. I am hoping to find him a pick his brain. I will let you know if I find anything out. Chris
