Default Thistle Mystery

Hi All,
Here is a thistle badge which has me puzzled.
I've shown it alongside others including a Cape Town Highlanders collar badge.
Can anyone identify it?
Thanks, John

Hello John,

I think your badge is a collar badge for officer's in wm or also in silver of the 1st Berwickshire Rifle Corps 1881-1887. ( reference Colin Churchill 704) I have a facing pair of the O/R's in white metal. (Ref 703)
Best regards.
Jean-Marie

Re hello,

See also Steady The Buffs Militaria site, under "Berwickshire". There is a good pic.

Hello Jean-Marie,
Thank you for your valuable information.
I have looked at Fig.704 in Churchill, also the badge at Steady the Buffs.
Although both are of the same pattern, there are slight differences to mine.
Also my badge is larger than the one in Churchill ie. if his badge is lifesize.
Thanks again, John
