Default Tiny Crossed Signal Flags

Hello all,
Does anyone have any idea what this badge is?
It is very small, being 17mm x 20mm.
It has been described as a WW2 Signaller Trade Proficiency Badge. (Is it?)
Looking at the rear it appears that the copper wire loops (Couldn't call them lugs) are a later addition, they have been attached with lead solder.
Maybe? it had proper lugs originally.

Phil.

Yeah BC, I sort of thought that their flags were different, with squares on the flags.

Definitely USA. You can find this badge and many others made in Australia by various makers in WW2 for US forces serving here.
