Apologies number I had been given belongs to another RAFaux Unit, so cannot confirm RAF. So my one remains a mystery as well☹️

The source of the info said it was for 2503 Sqn. The badge for them is the Lincoln Imp on crossed rifles so this led to my question. Someone must know?

151 (London) Support Regiment (RLC) use a similar badge but oval.
Also, similar: https://www.aliexpress.com/i/4001249237280.html https://www.hillmilitarymedals.co.uk...ent-trf-badge/

Thanks Phil, I had searched all of those, but this is definitely a British badge and the tines are different to the items you mentioned.
Thanks to gey-green-accorn and Bobanodised for the idents and help. Anybody else? Dave |

Sorry, only negatives.
Its not the Swedish Coastal Jaegers, that's oval and has equal-sized tines... ...its not our American cousins... ...and its not the Defence HUMINT unit, their trident has a longer central tine and they don't have a TRF anyway. They wear the JFC one when they bother with anything. |

Tommo, the answer to the first one (dragonfly) is given in the second post. What is DHU/FRU? If you mean the Defence Humint Unit then their trident has a long central tine, with them being mentioned in post 8.

FRU was the predecessor to DHU. As for their insignia, I have seen some personnel wearing their Trident on the cuff of their No.2 Dress (FAD), however, as you say it has a longer handle. |

Just for future reference for anybody looking at this, I'll be slightly pedantic. FRU (the Force Research Unit) replaced the Force Sources Cell and was the predecessor of JSG (the Joint Support Group) which in turn was A predecessor of the Defence HUMINT Unit.
