Default Yorkshire Brigade Query

I recently got this Yorkshire Brigade cap badge by Marples & Beasley.

My question is, is there a reason for it being a different colour top the usual Yorks Brigade badges? I thought they all had gold scrolls & Crown?

It is all gold on the back so doesn't look like it's the same as the others.

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks, Bill

I think the black is to mask off the aera you don't want to colour in the next stage of production, so it's an unfinished badge that's slipped through.

Oddly there was a flurry of these on the market a few years ago. Someone must have found a box of half finished badges!

As stated above.

Oh wow,

thanks a lot for the replies, that's certainly one I didn't consider.

Regards, Bill
