Large Irish badge
Hi All,
can anyone ID this large Irish badge; it is 95mm in height x 70mm and has 2 normal sized lugs although one is missing. 20231010_065355.jpg 20231010_065405.jpg TIA Iain

Hi Iain
Copy of an Irish Constabulary badge, see here: https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...ighlight=Irish Seeing as I also found one in SA, it makes me wonder if they may have been used by the SA Irish, maybe as a baldric badge? The front quality is great, just the rear is iffy. Cheers, Alex |

Hi Alex,
I do believe you could be right. A little large perhaps for a Caubeen badge although Owen's does have a simular large Pipers Caubeen badge. But certainly, could be a Baldric badge or some sort of cross belt badge, however, given the fairly short lugs, perhaps it is a Caubeen badge. regards, Iain
