Default SAS Beret Badge - For the bin or not?

This cloth beret badge was part of a small collection I recently acquired having formerly belonged to an elderly Gentlemen now sadly deceased. All the other items were Indian Army related, mounted on card and evidently, judging by the Gents old notes put together in the late 60's early 70's.

This badge was loose in the bottom of the bag the other badges were in and I assume was once part of his collection. (The rest of which has, apparently been consigned to Bosleys for a future sale).

I have no experience in collecting SAS insignia and am aware that they are faked on a huge scale so would welcome any views as to its authenticity and age please.

Regards Simon.

Default I like it Simon

Personally I like it.
One I’d be happy to own.
Not 100% sure but it still looks decent.
Regards
Jon
