Default Pals for mine

Hi all,

Not had to lock down badge collecting yet and still
filling gaps - one E. Surrey shoulder title for my Wandsworth cap badge makes me laugh that I didn’t have a second spare amongst a couple of cards of spares. Swap anyone to Australia ? Of course anyone who can fill a gap I would love to hear from you although I suspect my wants are shared with a few others Pals collectors. Some are only gap fillers like Lonsdale and some 31st Div for my Grandad in the Durham Pals.

Enjoy and stay safe, Dean

A fine lot of exceptional badges there. Most of the badges on this level I unfortunately cannot hope to obtain
Keep at it!

I may have an East Surrey shoulder title Dean if you still need one.

I know what you mean CB and the gaps are one heck of a challenge.

Thanks Mark and let me know if you find a spare East Surrey title and the £ with postage to LongDog (aka my mate Pat) in Kent.

A spare Tyneside Scottish shoulder title would be nice too of course, cheers Dean

Fantastic group Dean. Some (all) beauties.

Can you show a closer pic of the elusive Cardiff City collars? One I have been after, but it keeps getting away...

cheers, Tim

Thanks chaps - the one on the right is on the board - jelly-like finish to the rear, very thin with sharp detail to front. My assessment only, I intend to re-populate my Pals album for vetting, cheers Dean

One on the left is a repro I’m afraid Dean. But the other is A-OK and absolutely genuine! These are one of the few occasions where the real badges are poorer quality on the back that the fakes.

Hi Luke, - yes sorry I was trying to illustrate that one was genuine and the other a gap filler. I meant to say above that the one on the right on the board IMO was the genuine one, cheers Dean

Yes indeed Simon I have used your album as a good reference thanks. Matching pairs of shoulder titles really threw the gauntlet down and not a challenge I could accept. Hard enough getting singles now. As you noted a couple were not Pals badges but it was one of the best Pals collections I have seen. Bet you wish you still had them, cheers Dean

Thanks Luke all good. Indeed Simon and I have added and added and only now am narrowing to King’s Colonials/KEH/2KEH, Durham, Lincoln, Leicester, Notts & Derby, Pals and 1914 Cav, Yeo, London and Infantry sets with titles. Exhausted just listing the narrowed down interest!

Only a hobby could be like it, cheers Dean.

Simon,
I take it you are aware that your left hand 16th Welsh collar is good whilst the right hand one is a modern copy?
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news if you weren't.
In addition the 16th were not a pals unit. That was the 11th of course.
Regards,
Kevin
