HAC Officers QC hat badge
The die used to create this badge is a 1970ish 'tall orb' fake. Has all the attributes, 'tick in the box' on the trail handle, tall orb on the crown, nick in the right hand scroll.
It is however die cast in a similar manner to the dead gilt Gaunt and Firmin artillery officers No 1 and No 3 Dress hat badges, and the pattern of the applied wheel is usually attributed to Firmin. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Honourab...AAAOSw9VxfffT5 Is it possible that this is the pattern of badge now being purchased (individually or Regimentally) for officers for wear in No 1 Dress (Gunner) of the HAC. Or is it an elaborate fake? Just curious - dealer uses Global Priority so wouldn't buy off him in any case. Keith |

Answered my own question. Hodges has this same badge as the HAC Artillery Division officers badge.
I presume then that these are purchased either regimentally or by the officers themselves from a supplier - perhaps Ammo UK who seem to manufacture this badge without the mounted wheel. |

There was an Or's Kc badge with mounted wheel from the same makers a few months back on a Web page, I don't rember seeing one of those before.
