Default 2 'dragon' badges and 2 Welsh badges

Could anyone identify the 2 'dragon badges and or comment on the authenticity of all 4 badges please?

I’ve seen those Wyvern’s on a torso identified as Leicester City Police and West Midlands Railways collars.

All the cap badges are repros sorry.

May I ask how you identified them as fake, it may save me time with others in my late dad's collection?

You’re welcome.

Have you tried searching the forum? Every one of these has been discussed before, in some cases many, many times.

Would you mind if I photographed the rest in sets for your perusal?

#1 dragon, monmouthshire, sadly a copy as already stated, #2 not one I know but is probably an original, police as said seems likely, #3, 3rd welsh vb not one I am up on but dumpy feathers is not a good sign, #4 welsh horse, not a good one, voiding in the lettering is wrong as are the roots.

all imo

The "wyvern" badge is a collar badge worn by the Midland Railway Police. It is not, as suggested, from Leicester.

Dave.

Here you go Phil, 3rd VB Welsh top right & with another example I have. It’s not the “dumpy” feathers issue as that relates to badges with very pronounced ribs on the feathers & complete lack of detail to same. Yours does have more detail than that but it is the size of the font, coronet etc. along with the lack of detail on the PoW plumes that doesn’t look right. I actually am more confident about my example on the right due to the greater depth of the striking.
Hwyl,
Kevin

Default Welsh badges

Thank you, I have posted more Welsh badges in mystery badges. Also, my father had a Welsh title badge that said: the Red Dragon leads (in Welsh). Have you come across such a badge?

y ddraig goch ddyry gychwyn” is a motto that can be found on the badges of a number of Welsh units. It is most commonly found on the 1st World War period collar badges to the 16th(Cardiff City)Batt’n of the Welsh Reg’t but can also be found on badges that were worn by a few Victorian period volunteer units.
