Default Welsh (2nd Battalion) India - Tropical Helmet Ornaments/badges

Good evening all.

Showing these for the forums opinions.

According to Churchill (fig 1147 - page 183) they are not collars but tropical helmet ornaments worn by Officers and Band of the 2nd Battalion in India c1906.

We have (I would say) Officers b/m pair (crown raised on these) and o/r's (lower quality and not as heavy as Officers) with silver crown, both however are the same size 28mm high and 33mm wide.

I think that they are collars (seem to always come in pairs as what we have here) and also they seem a little small to be worn on helmets (unless someone has a photo of them being worn, as willing to be prove wrong/right).

Ta

Jonathan.
