Default Royal Artillery OSD Collar Distinctive Lugs

I have this Artillery OSD coll with distinctive construction and lugs. I've never seen this type of lugs before, with either an integral or attached split ring arrangement at the base. Is it Royal Artillery or commonwealth, and if RA any idea of age? Weighs in at a fairly whopping 15g! Many thanks, Mike

From the front it appears to be just a bog standard RA OSD Collar.

It is a bog standard collar. The construction of these, and all officer badges, varied tremendously. Nothing particularly unusual about yours. A nice thick cast badge, I would say WW2 or earlier, but there is no way to be sure.
