Pembroke/Glamorgan Yeomanry Hybrid
I picked up the badge shown in the middle of the 1st photo a few months ago.
It is most unusual in that the top section is from a Glamorgan Yeo badge, albeit with the motto clealry visible on the PoW plumes, whereas the bottom scroll is from a Pembroke Yeo badge. The badge has not been altered and is as originally produced. The 2nd photo shows it compared to a blackened brass Glam Yeo badge again with the PoW motto evident on the scrolls, whereas they should be blank. I was lucky enough to pick up a RPPC recently showing a member of the 1st Glam Yeo in full marching order with a blackened cap badge taken in 1916. |

I had always presumed these examples utilised the 10th Hussars plumes. Don’t have a photo of my Glam Yeo example with like plumes to hand sadly but can recall it wasn’t blackened.
Very nice to have a dated photo showing blackened badges in wear. |
