Good clear view of the badge, nice photo Alan.
The badge looks typical for this era, not the best made badge! I've a Pembroke with a similar PoW feathers.

The 231st brigade were designated the white on green.... but the "Divisional" troops wore white on black. 229th Bde = White on Blue and the 230th Bde white on red.

* i have yet to see an image of the 231st wearing the broken spur?
