Canadian Militia Button
Hi Gents,
I put this in the 'button' section above but it didn't get much attention, so though I would try in the Canadian section (there being no Canadian button section). I've been fortunate to add this splendid 19th Century Canadian 'British' Militia Button to my collection. My knowledge about 19th Century Canadian militia is in it's infancy, so would appreciated any assistance with more details about this specific button if anyone can help? Cheerio, Roy

Roy, a very nice button. Don't know if this will be helpful, but I posted some pictures of some of my 19th century buttons in this thread.

Thanks Terry,
Appreciate that mate. Early Canadian Militia buttons are somewhat of a mystery to me but I was thrilled to find this one, so would like to glean a little more information on it. Cheerio, Roy

Roy, see my post in “British” buttons. Awfully hard to research Canadian buttons, ( or buttons in use in Canada prior to 1900) I cannot even find reference to the Maker of my button mentioned in the other section. Murchison must have been a thriving business going by the quality of their buttons. Regards, David.
