Julian

No, I think Keith was talking about the Westlake book.

Hi Keith and Wilf,

Thanks to Keith for his suggestion about Ray Westlakes book " Tracing The Rifle Volunteers " and thanks to Wilf for his link to Abe books.

After your Link Wilf, I found the site and ordered a copy immediately, it was delivered this morning.

The price was my kind of money and it was post free, it's a smashing book, in excellent condition and the only down side so far is the fact that I doubt if I have the powers of retention to actually understand the book.

You will need a degree in reading historical reference books ????

Oh and my ' holy grail ' has changed somwhat ??

Dave.

I have to confess that after reading the posts ( particularly the reference to Liverpool/Lancashire by Keith ) I found a copy of the Westlake book on E bay at a very good price ( cheaper than a carte de visite of an officer of the 15th Lancashire Rifle Volunteers then on E bay I was thinking of bidding on ) so I decided to treat myself for Christmas.

I am hoping that my copy will arrive early next week.

P.B.
